In the past, you needed to enter a line of HTML into your Blogger.com blog to verify you owned the blog before you could start enjoying the benefits of Google Webmaster Tools. While this may sound easy, many people that use Blogger.com do so because it's easy and doesn't require them to know web design.
Google added a link at the footer of the Blogger.com dashboard that you can use to verify your site, making it simple for any one to use. One problem at this time seems to be that you can't do it if you don't have your profile set to public.
